Nepean Museum and the Camera Club of Ottawa are proud to announce the launch of Nepean Museum’s inaugural online exhibit ‘Then and Now: Nepean’s Changing Landscape’s. The online exhibit went live August 15, 2011 at www.nepeanmuseum.ca/content/online-exhibits
"Nepean Museum is thrilled to launch its first online exhibit. ‘Then and Now: Nepean’s Changing Landscape’, was originally exhibited at Ben Franklin Centre in July,” explains Sharon Vance, Exhibition Assistant and Young Canada Works summer student. “We worked with the Camera Club of Ottawa. Using historical images from the Museum’s collection, CCO members took current day images at the same locations, hence ‘then and now.’ ”
Nepean Museum is excited to be moving towards the creation of a Virtual Museum. This is just the start in presenting the history of Nepean to a wider audience. “We are hoping to have the same success with our online exhibits as we have with our online photographs using social media.” says Sharon.
