Ontario is helping to protect and promote Ottawa West-Nepean’s unique heritage, and boost tourism and economic development in the region.
The Nepean Museum is receiving $28,315 in annual funding through the Community Museum Operating Grant program. This support will help the Nepean Museum deliver and enhance programs – sharing Ontario’s history with residents and visitors and encouraging participation in activities that celebrate Ottawa’s heritage.
"The Nepean Museum ensures that our local history and heritage is shared and celebrated," said MPP Bob Chiarelli. "This support will help the Nepean Museum continue to promote heritage conservation and increase pride in our community."
With over 20,000 historical objects and a wide range of public events and exhibits, the Nepean Museum is a cornerstone of Ottawa West-Nepean’s heritage preservation and tourism development.
"This funding ensures our collections are accessible and well cared for through our changing exhibitions program," said Curator Rachel Perkins. "Ultimately, the Community Museum Operating Grant funding enables us to preserve the heritage and identity of the community of Nepean."
