Saturday Explorers: Farming in the Past

Saturday, June 27, from 1pm to 4pm

Drop by with your family and discover the history of farming in Nepean. Explore a touch table of historic artefacts, try making butter, and find the animals hidden around the museum! Activities created for children ages 3 to 10 and accompanying adults, but all are welcome.

Cost: $6.30 per child

Canada Day

Canada Day at Fairfields Heritage House has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Join us at one of our other City of Ottawa museums - Billings Estate National Historic Site, Cumberland Heritage Village Museum, and Pinhey’s Point Historic Site - for activities and to celebrate the 150th!

Home and Away

Wednesdays in July from 9:00 am to Noon

Imagine life as an early settler as you learn how to survive in a new environment and turn a house into a home! Explore different methods of communication and see how people stayed in touch with their far away family. Activities are appropriate for children ages 6 to 9. With a new theme every week, you can register for one session or all four!

Farm to Food

Thursdays in July from 9:00 am to Noon

Do you love to eat and play in the dirt? Join us to discover how food was grown and used in Nepean! Get your fill of fun activities, crafts, and of course food. Activities are appropriate for children ages 6 to 9. With a new theme every week, you can register for one session or all four!

By Land and Sea

Fridays in July from 9:00 am to Noon

Planes, trains and automobiles; explore how people have moved across Nepean over time. Play a game, get creative, and spend the morning with friends at the museum! Activities are appropriate for children ages 6 to 9. With a new theme every week, you can register for one session or all four!

Saturday, July 27, from 1pm to 4pm

Drop by with your family and test your team with a building challenge! Plan and build log cabins, a bridge and a candy house! Activities created for children ages 3 to 10 and accompanying adults, but all are welcome.
